n advance of the ORT
Visionaries Contributors' din-
ner, Judith and Irwin Elson of
Bloomfield Hills hosted a parlor
reception to kick off the Michigan
ORT Resource Center and to honor
Andi and Lawrence Wolfe of
Bloomfield Hills.
More than 90 guests attended the
event and learned about the educa-
tional opportunities the ORT center
will offer.
The ORT Resource Center will be
housed within the D. Dan and Betty
Kahn Jewish Community Center's
new Center of Exploration and
Discovery. Campaign Co-chairmen
Pattie Aaron and Jim August were
delighted to announce initial pledges
of more than $350,000 toward the $1
million campaign.

Walk 6- Squawk at the Furniture Factory.

Mogill, a family physician for more
than 50 years, was among the four
health-care professionals to receive the
prestigious award. All honorees must
exhibit integrity, professionalism, excel-
lence and be a community role model.
The nominations come from peers and
patients; an independent counsel selects
the winners. Mogill's practice is in
Royal Oak.
Senator Gary Peters and State
Representative Patricia Godchaux
presented Mogill with a signed special
tribute from the State of Michigan.
Governor John Engler also honored
Mogill's achievements with a signed
Certificate of Commendation.
Proudly attending the award ceremo-
ny were Mogul's wife Irma and children
Jain and Carl Lauter, David and Lori
Mogill and Liz and Ken Silver.

Power Of Prayer

Howard and Brenda Rosenberg of
Bloomfield Hills recently received the
Tree of Life Award 2000 at the Impact
of Prayer and Healing event spon-
sored by Ohr Somayach at the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield.
The evening featured an interactive
program with Dr. Herbert Benson,
Dr. Steven Keteyian and Rabbi
Dovid Gottlieb. The moderator was
Brent Triest.
"It's never too late to grow, change
and add spirituality into your life,"
said honoree Howard Rosenberg.
The campaign co-chairs for this
event included Suzy Farbman, Shelley
and Richard Golden, Dr. Debra
Hollander, Hsiao-Ping Katz, Rabbi
Eric Krohner, Florine Mark-Ross and
Dr. William Ross, Shirley and
Edward Rosenberg, Neil Satovsky,
Sandra Seligman and Dr. Jill Syme.

Walk o- Squawk Bash

The Walk & Squawk Performance
Project, under the direction of Erika
Block and Hilary Ramsden, recently
held a kick-off bash to celebrate its
new space in the Furniture Factory, at
4126 Third Street in Detroit's
Cultural Center.
Walk & Squawk is a physical and
visual theater company that presents
works in a fresh, imaginative fashion. A
satire, The Government Inspector, is being
presented through Sunday, Dec. 10. For
