David James Granzotto celebrated his
bar mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 18, with
the Workmen's
Circle/Arbeter Ring.
David is the son
of Elizabeth Gleicher
and Mark Granzotto
and the brother of
Joseph and
Benjamin. Proud
grandparents are
William and Iva
Granzotto and
Dorothy Gleicher. He is also the grand-
son of the late Morris Gleicher.
David's bar mitzvah presentation was
tided "Italian Jews and the Holocaust"
and included, in Yiddish, Shylock's
speech from the Merchant of Venice.
• An eighth-grade student at
Cranbrook School in Bloomfield Hills,
David enjoys lacrosse, history, reading
and football. His mitzvah projects
included working in Leo's Soup
Kitchen.

Arica Leff will celebrate her bat mitzvah
at a special Havdalah service at
Congregation Beth
Shalom on Saturday,
Nov. 18. Arica is the
daughter of Sue and
Gordy LeW sister of
Amanda and Maggie.
She is the grand-
daughter of Erma
Mazer and Barbara
and Saul Leff, and the
great-granddaughter of Sonia Eisenberg.
Arica is also the granddaughter of the
late Albert (Obbie) Snow and the late
Miles Mazer.
Arica is an eighth-grade honor stu-
dent at Warner Middle School in
Farmington Hills. She enjoys volunteer-
ing with the Friendship Circle, dancing,
drawing and spending time with friends
and family.

Simon Jacob Pinter became a bar mitz-
vah on Thursday, Nov. 23, at
Congregation B'nai Moshe. He is the
son of Tina and Alan Pinter and brother
of Tony, Zoe and Hank. Simon's proud

grandmothers are
Gertrude Rosen and
Sarah Pinter. He is
also the grandson of
the late Herbert
Rosen and the late
Stanley Pinter.
Simon is a stu-
dent at Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. He enjoyed being a
member of the cross-country team at
Hillel this fall. He loves skiing, bicycling
and running.

Joshua Simon Sattler will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Nov. 25, at
Congregation
Shaarey Zedek. He is
the son of Diane and
Ron Sattler and the
brother of Ashley and
Courtney. Excited
grandparents are
Mike and Barbara
Keller and Kathy
Sattler. He is also the grandson of the
late Carl Sattler and the great-grandson
of the late Irene McCartney.
Joshua is a honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield. He enjoys downhill skiing,
computers, go-ped riding and attending
Camp Walden.
His most meaningful mitzvah project
was working with the class with special
needs at Orchard Lake Middle School.

Martee Blaine Fischman of Long
Grove, Ill., will be called to the Torah as
a bat mitzvah Friday,
Nov. 24, at
Congregation Beth
Shalom in
Northbrook, Ill.
Martee is the daugh-
ter of former
Michigander Ilene
(Shapiro) and
Richard Fischman
and sister of Lane.
Her proud grandparents are Phyllis and
Harvey Shapiro of West Bloomfield and
Scottsdale, Ariz., and Lorraine and Carl
Fischman of Northbrook.
Martee is an honor student at Twin
Groves in Long Grove. She enjoys
singing in the choir of her synagogue,
performing in school musicals, skiing,
grater skiing, playing the drums and art.
