Monday, December 25

We'll start with breakfast and briefing at the
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit
Max M. Fisher Federation Building
6735 Telegraph Road, Bloomfield Hills (south of Maple).
After briefing, we will carpool to the volunteer sites.

Reservations are filled first come, first served.
You will receive a confirmation and check-in time in the mail.

Projects last between two and four hours.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Eric Jordan Awerbuch of West
Bloomfield will be called to the Torah as
a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 25, at
Congregation Shaarey
Zedek B'nai Israel.
Participating in the
service will be Eric's
parents, Amy
Awerbuch and Gavin
Awerbuch, and broth-
ers Adam and Drew
Proud grandpar-
ents are John and Suzie Katz and
Jerome and Bebe Awerbuch. Eric is also
the grandson of the late Marvin Zahler
and Edythe Awerbuch.
Eric is a seventh-grade honor student
at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills. His inter-
ests include playing baseball, football
and golf. Eric also enjoys boating, fish-
ing, the computer and summers at
Camp Walden.
Eric's mitzvah project included a
research project on the kosher meat
business.

Jason Bank will become a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, Nov. 25, at Congregation
Shan rey Zedek. He is the son of Geri
Feigelson and Stuart
Bank. His sister,
Laura Bank, is excited
to see her younger
brother celebrate this
special event. Jason's
grandparents are Dr.
Howard and Marilyn
Feigelson of
Cincinnati, Ohio,
and George and
Shirley Bank of Florida.
Jackson is a straight-A student at
O.E. Dunckel Middle School in
Farmington Hills. He is a competitive
swimmer as a member of the Black Dog
Team in a sports club in West
Bloomfield.
As a mitzvah project, Jason donated
to the Special Olympics organization.

Jeremy Kenward Cape will become a
bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on Friday,
Nov. 24. He is the son of Jeffrie and
Thomas Cape and brother of Phillip,
Rebecca and
Stephanie. Happy
grandparents are
Norma and Dr.
William Cape and
Beth Kon. He is also
the grandchild of the
late Frank Kon.
A student at

Mazel Toy!

Orchard Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield, Jeremy is interested in soc-
cer, diving and computers. His most
meaningful mitzvah project was volun-
teering with Temple Israel's Caring
Community.

Amanda Michelle Emmer will be called
to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 25, at Temple Israel. She
is the daughter of
Stacey and Allan
Emmer and sister of
Michael. Excited
grandparents are
Anita Emmer and
Helen and Max
Pollack. She is also
the grandchild of the
late Marshall Emmer.
An honor student at Orchard Lake
Middle School in West Bloomfield,
Amanda enjoys dancing, skiing, soccer
and the computer. Among her mitzvah
projects, Amanda found it especially
meaningful to collect and donate items
to a shelter for women and children.

Rachel Ilyse Fishman will be called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah during
Havdalah services at
Temple Israel on
Saturday Nov. 25.
She is the daughter of
Sharon and Michael
Fishman and sister of
Emily. Excited are
grandparents Reta
and Gordon Fishman
and Ida and Henry
Glass, as well as great-grandparents
Sonia and Hyman Blumenstein.
A Bloomfield Hills Middle School
student, Rachel enjoys horseback riding,
singing, dancing and acting. As part of
her mitzvah projects, she found it par-
ticularly significant to make dolls for
hospitalized children.

Jacqueline Paige Gordon will be called
to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 25, at
Temple Beth El. She
is the daughter of
Randal and Adrienne
Gordon and the sister
of Joshua Henry.
Proud grandparents
are Marion and
Martin Moskovitz of
Farmington Hills and
Richard and Jo
Coskey Wiener of Bloomfield Hills. She
is also the granddaughter of the late
Pauline P. Coskey and the late Henry
Gordon.
