Upgrades Noted

The A. Alfred Taubman Jewish
Community Campus was recently hon-
ored for the beautification and mainte-
nance of the property by the Oak Park
City Council and Beautification
Advisory Committee.
Upgrades to the campus include
enhancements"to one of the parks.
Among them is an older adult-friendly
raised-bed vegetable garden for residents
of the senior apartments. New benches
have been added to the campus, as well
as general overall landscaping.
The Beautification Advisory
Committee encourages the active sup-
port of interested individuals, businesses
and organizations in the beautification
and improvement of the city of Oak
Park.

Lamaze Class
Has Jewish Content

Registration is being accepted for
" Lamazel Toy May You Be a
Blessing," a five-week interactive
course that combines the Lamaze
method of childbirth with Jewish
content geared toward new parents.
Classes will combine preparation
for childbirth with discussion of the
role of Jewish parents. Topics include
spirituality and pregnancy; tradition,
ceremonies and ritual; what makes a
family strong; and what makes a fami-
ly Jewish.
Classes will meet 2:30-5:30 p.m.
beginning Sunday, Feb. 11, at
Congregation Shir Tikvah, 3900
Northfield Parkway, Troy. There is a fee
of 575 per couple.
Co-sponsors of the series are Jewish
Experiences For Families, Jewish Family
Service, Sinai-Grace/DMC Hospital
and Congregation Shir Tikvah.

Bereavement
Group Sign-Up

A new six-week bereavement support
group will begin 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec.
5, at Temple Israel.
Meeting dates will be Dec. 5, 19;
Jan. 12, 16, 30; and Feb. 13. The group
is free of charge and open to the com-
munity. The facilitator is Marjorie
Fuller, MA and LPC.
