Among this year's „ Broadway and off-Broadway shows 'are those featuring Jewish themes, Jewish stars and Jewish playwrights. Here is a sampling of what's going on in the Big Apple: Seussical is a musical that features the whimsi- cal world of Theodor Geisel, a.k.a. Dr. Seuss. Weaving together stories and characters from several of Dr. Seuss' creative children's books, Seussical entreats The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz and a gaggle of characters to bring harmony back to their world after chaos erupts in the Jungle of Nool. David Shiner stars as The Cat in the Hat. Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the cre- ative tunesmiths behind Ragtime, created a score that includes pop, gospel, blues and R & B. (212) 307-4100. 4; II 11/17 2000 90 The Allergist's Wife is a satirical comedy about a prosperous middle-aged Jewish couple who live on the Upper West Side of New York. The kvetching wife, Marj Taub, played by Linda Lavin, is married to Ira, a successful doctor, played by Tony Roberts. While going through a mid-life crisis, Marj's life takes an ironic turn when an old friend, played by Michelle Lee, pays her a visit. Written by New York Jewish playwright Counterclockwise from top left: Neil Simon's newest play, "The Dinner Party," stars, left to right, John Ritter, Henry Winkler, Jan Maxwell and Len Cariou. "Tallulah Hallelujah" is actress Tovah Feldshuh's first venture as a playwright. David Shiner stars as The Cat in the Hat in "Seussical," a musical based on the works of Theodore Geisel. Ron Palillo plays the title role in "The Diary of Adolf Eichmann." Grinning and baring it: "The Full Monty" brings a favorite cult film to the Broadway stage.
