to become a singer in the eighth grade
... and starred in many musicals ... At
Oakland University, she earned a
degree in music.
Karen has won Star Search twice in
Hollywood ... sung with a lounge
band doing Top 40 tunes ... worked
on the SS Emerald Seas cruise ship
with a vocal group ... and has done
radio jingles.
She was even a diver in high school
... and captain of the swimming team.
Karen has more talent in her little
finger than most people have in their
entire body ... She can bend that little
finger to make a popping sound any-
time she wants.
Karen's show at Andiamo Celebrity
Showroom, on 14 Mile Road between
Mound and Van Dyke, in Warren, will
be a beautiful one ... filled with holiday
songs remembered by so many for years.
For reservations, call (810) 268-3200.
THE RECIPE book, Collections by
Greg Upshur, executive chef at Too
Chez in Novi, can be gotten by sending

TED AND MARIA Gatzaros, own-
ers of Fishbone's on Monroe Street in
Detroit's Greektown, and Northwestern
Highway in Southfield, have given their
Pegasus horse a new ride.
The original Pegasus sign, a custom-
made version of the mythical winged
horse, has been restored and returned
to its home high above Monroe in
Greektown, where it served as a land-
mark for the past 20 years.-
Pegasus Restaurant has been
renewed as well, with interior and
exterior repainting, awnings, stand-up
bar for folks to mingle while standing,
new cream-colored carpeting milled in
Italy, custom-made light fixtures, etc.
The Pegasus menu has been complete-
ly. redesigned ... but, thankfully, those
fine traditional favorites are still there.
MAIL DEPT ... from Norma Weitz
Zager, in California ... "Yes, the sun is
shining in Los Angeles and if the smog
ever lifts, you can catch a glimpse of blue
sky. I am a fulltime journalist covering
Beverly Hills and still do stand-up come-
dy and television when I have the time.
"Brother Marty and wife Linda
Weitz just returned from Paris where
he earned the nickname, Marty Foie
Gras, for eating his way through the
`City of Lights.'
"My children are doing great and
keeping so busy, this mom almost
needs an appointment. Brad is con-
stantly traveling for Fox Sports West
and producing and doing graphics at
sports events around the world,
including the opening baseball games
