Sandra (Schlaen) and Joshua Lerner of
Huntington Woods welcome with
love the birth of their daughter,
Arianna Bella (Meira Batya). Sharing
in their happiness are grandparents
Lorraine and Leonard Lerner of West
Bloomfield and Rosalie and Horacio
Schlaen of Hollywood, Fla. Proud
great-grandmother is Celicia Waisman
of Tucuman, Argentina. Arianna is
named in loving memory of her great-
grandmothers Mary Lerner and Berta
Schlaen.

Sept. 11
Lesley (Wolfe) and Gordon Fox of
Houston, Texas, welcome with love
the birth of their second daughter,
Sararose. Welcoming her home is big
sister Hannalee. Delighted grandpar-
ents are Ellen and Lou Warshaw of
Waterford, Alvan and Merrill Wolfe of
Phoenix and Ricky Fox of Houston.
Sararose is named in loving memory
of great-great-aunts Selma Wolfe and
Ruth Davis (sisters of maternal great-
great-grandfather Joe Wolfe) and
paternal great-great-aunt Rose
Horowitz.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Stephanie Morgan Bloom will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah
on Friday, Nov. 10, at Temple Israel.
She is the daughter of Pamela and
Kenneth Bloom and
sister of Jennifer and
Natalie. Proud
grandparents are
Hilda and Mitcheal
Bloom and
Madeline Weinsaft.
She is also the
grandchild of the
late Harry Weinsaft.
An honor student at West
Bloomfield's Abbott Middle School,
Stephanie enjoys dance, horseback rid-
ing and attending Camp Tamarack.
Among her mitzvah projects, she vol-
unteered to prepare and serve dinner
when Temple Israel housed a group of
homeless people. She also shared an
oneg Shabbat with residents of a
home through the Jewish Association
for Residential Care and donated to
the Camp Tamarack Horizon
Program.

Bret Jacob Chaness will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah during
Havdalah services at Temple Israel on
Saturday, Nov. 11. He is the son of

Chaness and brother
of Taylor and
Madison. Excited
grandparents are
Enid and Fred
Chaness and Millie
and Ben Wish.
An honor stu-
dent at Walled Lake Middle School,
Bret especially enjoys golf, hockey and
computers. Bret's most meaningful
mitzvah project involved purchasing
Chanukah gifts for a child selected for
him by Jewish Family Service.

Allison Brooke Etkin will become a
bat mitzvah on Friday, Nov. 10, at
Temple Israel. She is
the daughter of
Judy and Harold
Etkin and sister of
Jessica and Nicole.
Excited grandpar-
ents are Pat and
Frank Davis and
Rita and Ben Etkin.
Attending
Warner Middle
School in Farmington Hills, where she
is an honor student, Allie likes danc-
ing and acting and loves the group
'Nsync. Her mitzvah projects included
volunteering and earning funds for
Yad Ezra, dancing for senior citizens,
helping to pack Temple Israel
Sisterhood's gift boxes for college stu-
dents and babysitting during temple
services.

Nicole Ariel Levy will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
Nov. 11, at
Congregation
Shaarey Zedek. She
is the daughter of
Richard and Jill
Levy. Proud grand-
parents are Leonard
and Nancy Baron
and Ira and Florence
Levy. Happy great-
grandparents are Doris Lipton, Harry
Lipton and Rose Sisskind.
Nicole is an honor student at
Abbott Middle School in West
Bloomfield. She loves to dance, swim
and spend her summers at Tamarack
Camps. Her mitzvah work included
working in the synagogue office and
donating money to Yad Ezra.
