Emily is an honor student at
Birmingham Covington School, grad-
uate of Adat Shalom religious school's
accelerated program, a student in the
Gesher program, a member of the
B'nai B'rith Youth Organization and a
regular participant at the
Birmingham-Bloomfield Chai Center.
Emily has been actively involved in
her school forensics program, plays
trumpet in the band and is a member
of the basketball and track teams. She
enjoys computers, piano, math, art
and writing. Her recent trip to Israel,
where she attended services on
Masada, was most meaningful.
Her artwork has been published
and distributed in Yad Ezra's Rosh
Hashanah cards. She is involved in
many mitzvah projects and particular-
ly enjoyed cutting vegetables from the
garden in the Yad Ezra food distribu-
tion program.

Kathryn (Katie) Simon will become a
bat mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 11, at
Temple Beth El. She
has two older broth-
ers, Danny, 16, and
Michael, 20. Her
parents are Lori and
David Simon. Her
grandparents are
Edgar M. Fenton
and Peggy and
Eugene Simon. She
is also the granddaughter of the late
Marjorie Weisbaum Fenton.
Katie is an honor student at Derby
Middle School in Birmingham. She
enjoys playing the flute, reading,
swimming, softball and being with
family and friends.
Her mitzvah projects included
delivering for Meals on Wheels, which
she has done since she was 9, and vis-
iting with seniors at the Fleischman
Residence.

Nathan Michael Teitel will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 11, at Congregation
Beth Ahm. He is the son of Renee

and Steven Teitel of
West Bloomfield
and sister of Nicole
Czarnecki, who
attends Michigan
State University.
Proud great-
grandparents are
Dorothy and Ray
Goodman of Livonia. Grandparents
include Richard and Marjorie
Ambrose of Florida and Dr. Robert
Teitel of California. Nathan is also
the grandchild of the late Faith Teitel.
Nathan is in the eighth grade at
Berkshire Middle School in
Birmingham. He enjoys being a goalie
at U.S. Blades and playing baseball
with the Franklin Baseball League.
Nathan is a volunteer with the
Friendship Circle, helping children
with disabilities and special needs.

Jessica Anna Topor will celebrate her

bat mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 11, at
Temple Israel. She is
the daughter of
Karen and Larry
Topor and sister of
Julie and Jennifer.

An honor student at Abbott
Middle School in West Bloomfield,
Jessica likes music, softball and bas-
ketball. Her mitzvah projects includ-
ed volunteering at Yad Ezra, assisting
at Temple Israel's Labor Day picnic
and collecting donations for the
National Council of Jewish Women's
programs for abused women and
children.

Aaron Mathew Wolff will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 11, at
Temple Israel. He is
the son of Stuart
and Elizabeth Wolff
and brother of
Joshua. He is the
grandson of Sanford
and Charlotte Wolff
of Delray Beach,
Fla., Kenneth Singer
of Farmington Hills and the late
Marvel Singer.
An honor student at West Hills
Middle School in Bloomfield Hills,
Aaron enjoys swimming, tennis,
archery, music and travel. His mitz-
vah projects included volunteering at
Yad Ezra and Temple Israel's Labor
Day picnic.
