An honor student at Derby Middle School in Birmingham, Kyle likes softball, tennis, basketball and volleyball as well as playing the saxophone. She found it very rewarding to volunteer at the Michigan Humane Society for the past three years as an ongoing mitz- vah project. His grandparents are Dr. Joseph and Lillian Friedman and Anatoly and Vitalia Kronik, all metro Detroiters. Gabe's great-grandmoth- er Mrs. Mirra Vorobyev and her husband Dr. Ilya Gurevitch of New York plan to attend. Gabe attends Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. Starr is a high honor student at Berkshire Middle School in Birmingham, where she plays clar- inet in the band and has the lead role of Cinderella in the current fall production. Her mitzvah projects included several days of volunteer- ing at Wing Lake School, working with children with special needs. Starr enjoys piano, skiing, scuba diving, softball and summers - at Camp Tamarack. Ilyssa Brin Golani will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Temple Israel.
