The Jewish Community Center in Oak
Park is offering a number of classes this
fall for all ages.
For preschool, children and teens are
the following:
Kindermusik with Trish, starting 3
p.m. Monday, Nov. 6 for seven weeks.
Creative Dance with Harriet Berg: for
preschoolers, 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov.
7; for 4-5 year olds, 11:15 a.m. Nov. 7.
Both run seven weeks. Movin' with
Maureen and Coco is for 2-3 year olds,
starting 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, for six
weeks.
Kidzcraft with Jacqui is for 2 1 /2-3
year olds. It begins 11 a.m. Thursday,
Nov. 9. Girls Empowered is for girls 4-5
years old. It begins 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 8, for seven sessions.
Girls Ja77 for second-fourth graders
starts 4:30-5:30 Monday, Nov. 7; for
third-fifth graders, 6-7 p.m. Both run
for seven sessions.
An Introduction to Bead and Wire
Work for teens will begin 7-8:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 7, for seven sessions.
Simcha Dancing for teens will begin
8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, for seven ses-
sions. Carol Fisher's Babysitting
Workshop for sixth-10th grade girls will
run for two weeks beginning 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 9. Creative Writing for
seventh-12th graders will begin 7 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 6.
Making Magic Fun is for fourth-
eighth graders and will begin 5 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 6, for seven weeks.
Adult Classes
In the list of offerings for adults is
Elementary Hebrew, which will begin at
1 p.m. Monday. Nov. 6, for seven ses-
sions. Photography Workshop with
iviarji Silk meets Mondays 1-2 p.m. and
7-9 p.m. beginning Monday, Nov. 6, for
seven weeks.
Two classes on Israel will be taught
by Shoshana Ben Ozer. Israel and
Zionism will start 10:30 a.m. Monday,
Nov. 6, for seven weeks. Israel and Its
Diverse Culture/Challenges will be 1
p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, for seven weeks.
A Creative Writing Workshop for
adults will be held beginning 8: 1 5 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 6, for seven sessions. A
Foreign Accent Reduction class for non-
native English speakers will be offered 1-
3 p.m. starting Tuesday, Nov. 7, for 14
weeks. There will also be a class from 7-
9 p.m. staring Thursday, Nov. 9.
Introduction to Jewish Genealogy
will be presented 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.
14, and the same times again on Dec.
12. Bead and Wire Work for adults is
scheduled 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7,
for seven sessions. Simcha Dancing for
adults will start 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.
7, for seven sessions.
A Needlepoint class will be offered
for seven weeks if interest is shown; call
for dates and times.
A class in Intermediate Hebrew is set
for 7-8 p.m. beginning Wednesday, Nov.
8, for seven sessions.
Belly Dancing will start 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 8, for seven sessions.
Staying Healthy on a Kosher Platter will
start 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, for
four sessions. A class in Mah Jongg will
begin 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, for
six weeks.

Temple Israel
Senior Shabbat
Susan Jacoby, author of Half-Jew, A
Temple Israel will continue its
Senior Saturday Shabbat program
with special alternative Saturday ser-
vices for seniors.
Services this fall will be Nov. 11
and Dec. 9, starting at 11 a.m. and
followed by a light lunch. The
spring dates are May 19 and June
23. Seniors will have an opportunity
to attend a more participatory ser-
vice.

Daughter's Search For Her Family's Buried
Past, will speak at Temple Israel 7:30
p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2.
The book explores the link between
personal shame and social shame, lead-
ing a family to deny its Jewishness.
