Eastern Star.
Mrs. Shaer is survived by her sis-
ter, Ada Lichtig of California;
numerous loving nieces, nephews;
other relatives and friends. She was
the beloved wife of the late Louis I.
Shaer; dear sister of the late Albert
Marks, the late Dr. Ben Marks and
the late Paul Marks.
Internment at Machpelah
Cemetery. Contributions may be
directed to a charity of one's choice.

JACK A. WEISS, 78, formerly of
Michigan of Deerfield beach, Fla.,
died Oct. 10.
He is survived by his daughters
and son-in-law, Debra Beryle and
Alex Winkler, Lauren S. Weiss; sister
and brother, Dorthy Weiss, Jerome
Weiss. He was the son of the late
Bernard and Lillian Weiss.
A memorial service was held at th
home of sister Dorthy.

Holocaust
Historian
Dead At 59

New York/JTA -- Sybil Milton,

an American historian of the
Holocaust, died Oct. 16 at 59.
The cause of death was not
immediately known. Milton was
vice chair of an international
commission of historians that
issued a report last December
criticizing Switzerland's policy
toward Jewish refugees during
the Holocaust.
She was senior historian at
.
the U.S. Holocaust Memorial
Museum in Washington until
1997.
