out by Chef Ariel ... 800 pounds a
week of chicken (breast, salads, over
rice, kabobs, gyros, etc.); 5 to 40 cases
of lettuce a week for those fine Greek
salads with the delicious, generations-
old George's Dressing, etc.) ... amaze-
ment because of the size of Honey
Tree's rwo kitchens ... The open one is
only eight feet by 20 feet ... and the
back kitchen is just 10 by 20, into
which is also crammed a freezer, stove,
works table and walk-in cooler.
Chef Ariel's culinary expertise and
George's ambitious ingenuity are sur-
prising a lot of people ... Cajun white-
fish, pasta with shrimp scampi, chick-
en or shrimp piccata ... and Ariel's
favorite dish ... seafood paella ... a
wonderful Spanish delight ... with
mussels, clams, shrimp, cod, scallops,
etc. ... plain or with chicken.
His Spanish features are many ...
like bistec encebollado con arroz,
Carribean steak with rice, green piu-
geon (peas) and sweet, ripe, yellow
plantains ... arroz con polio, rice with
chicken and pinto beans and green
plantains ... beef or chicken enchi-
ladas with a mild ranchero sauce,
melted Monterrey cheese, Spanish rice
and refried beans ... quesadilles de
pollo, chicken with pico de gallo
(diced onions, diced jalepeno, cilantro
and lime juice) ... Give Ariel a call
and he'll make his great paella
Valenciana con mariscos for you ...
clams, mussels, cod and shrimp.
The Honey Tree of Farmington
Hills is still a neighborhood restaurant
... with prices low enough for every-
one to enjoy seven days a week,
breakfast, lunch or dinner ... And its
children's menu continues to be a big
favorite.
The 102-seat Honey Tree restaurant
of Farmington Hills is celebrating its
first anniversary in a new-style way
that is gathering a lot of favorable
attention.
IT'S FINALLY HERE after much
thought ... A kosher Chinese all-you-
can-eat buffet ... first in Michigan ...
on tap for Thursday, Nov. 9, 6 to 9
p.m. ... at Adat Shalom Synagogue,
Middlebelt between 13 Mile Road
and Northwestern Highway in
Farmington Hills.
The idea of Jeffrey Rosenberg, head
of Farmington Hills Kosher Caterers
at Adat Shalom, will be open to the
public ... with items like Chinese veg-
etable soup, wonton soup, sesame
chicken, stir-fried beef, whitefish fil-
lets, Chinese vegetables, fried rice,
chow mein noodles, chocolate layer
cake, almond cookies, fresh fruit, etc.
If it goes over as expected by many,
