be Michael's parents, Jill and Craig,
and sister Stephanie. Proud grand-
parents are Dr. Irwin and Sue Small
of Bloomfield Hills and Herb and
Sally Sanders of Savannah, Ga.
Michael is an eighth-grader at
Warner Middle School in
Farmington Hills. He is an excellent
student and active in the school
band, where he is first-chair clar-
inet. During the winter, Michael
enjoys the ski slopes; baseball keeps
his interest the balance of the year.
His mitzvah projects included work
at Yad Ezra and with the Friendship
Circle.

Matthew Barrett Schloss will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, Oct. 28, at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek B'nai
Israel. He will lead Musaf services as
well as read his Torah and Haftorah
portions.

Matthew is an honor student at
Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills, where
he is a member of the school's soc-
cer and tennis teams. He enjoys col-
lecting action figures and sports
memorabilia. This past year,
Matthew found it worthwhile to
assist at Jewish Association for
Residential Care programs and visit
and assist residents at area nursing
homes.
Following his graduation from
Hillel this year, Matthew plans to
continue his Jewish studies and take
a trip to Israel with his family.

Tarah Brittany Schwalb will
become a bat mitzvah at Temple
Israel during Havdalah services on
Saturday, Oct. 28,
at Temple Israel.
She is the daughter
of Carolyn Schwalb
and Bruce Schwalb
and sister of

the granddaughter
of the late Grace Lopes.
Attending Walnut Creek Middle
School in West Bloomfield, Tarah
enjoys music, dance, computers, art

Aaron is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in
West Bloomfield. He enjoys many
activities, including sports, comput-
er technology and spending time
with friends. Aaron participated in
several mitzvah projects; two of his
favorites were assisting campers this
past summer at Camp Betman and
raking leaves at a nearby Jewish
Association for Residential Care
home.

Esther Sara Taxon will be called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Oct. 28,
at Congregation
B'nai Moshe.
Esther is the
daughter of Morse
Taxon and Ilana
Wolfson and the
sister of Jordan
Taxon. She is the
granddaughter of
Gloria Taxon of
North Miami Beach, Fla., and the
late Rabbi Jordan Taxon. She is also
the granddaughter of the late Sam
and Esther Wolfson. Her adopted
"local grandparents" are Jack and
Evelyn Schreier.
Esther is a seventh-grade honor
student at Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. She enjoys reading, swim-
ming, New England contra dancing,
art, science and computers. Esther
participated in the Dor l'Dor pro-
gram and delivers meals-on-wheels
at holidays.

Brandon Scott Wolf will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Oct. 28,
at Temple Israel.
He is the son of
Michelle and Bryan
Wolf and brother
of Zachary,
Breanna and
Marissa.
Grandparents are
Lenore Forward
and Sy Wolf. He is also the grand-
son of the late Elaine Wolf.
Brandon is a student at Walled
Lake Central High School. His hob-
bies are hockey and collecting sports
cards. He particularly enjoyed tak-
ing part in Temple Israel's Labor
Day picnic as one of his mitzvah
projects.
