Cultural Commission The Cultural Commission of Congregation Shaarey Zedek, chaired by Evelyn Kasle, recently toured the Guardian Industries Corp. in Auburn Hills to view 'Ancient Glass from the Holy Land," an exhibit curated by Ruth Rattner. They also saw pieces that world-famous glass artist Dale Chihuly created exclusively for the company. Elliot Schubiner and Linda Zalla were the event co-chairmen. KIDS ICKING Kids Kicking Cancer is a program dedicated to assisting pediatric oncology patients transcend their pain and discomfort using the spiritual interventions found in martial arts training. Through breathing techniques, meditation, visualiza- tion, Karate and Tai Chi, young cancer victims are taught the empowering skills of focus and positive attitude. The program is coupled with a medical study evaluating the anti-pain, anti-emetic and therapeutic impact. We are looking for individuals who can assist in driving our young participants to their classes (presently at Children's Hospital of Michigan and Gilda's Club), once or twice a week.
