Katherine Pensler was called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
Oct. 7, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
Katherine is the
daughter of Brenda
and Dr. Mark
Pensler and sister of
Robert, Elizabeth,
Margaret, Pauline,
Pamela and
Meridith. Proud
grandparents are Edith and Milford
Keidan and Gertrude Pensler. She is
also the granddaughter of the late
Dr. Meyer Pensler.
Katherine is an honor student at
West Hills Middle School in
Bloomfield Hills. She enjoys spend-
ing her summers at Camp Walden.
She also enjoys being with friends,
dancing and playing sports. She is a
member of her school's tennis team.
Katherine attends the Hebrew high
school at Shaarey Zedek. Her mitz-
vah project was making a donation
to Yad Ezra.

Eric Matthew Silver will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Oct. 14,
at Temple Emanu-
El. He is the son of
Debra and Scott
Silver and brother
of Randall and
Sarah. He is the
grandson of Dr.
Robert and Marilyn
Silver, Florence
Holzman and the late Robert
Holzman.
Eric is a seventh-grade honor stu-
dent at Berkshire Middle School in
Beverly Hills. He enjoys scouting,
model trains, bicycling, camping
and playing the piano. As his mitz-
vah project, Eric volunteered at the
Baldwin Library in Birmingham,
assisting young children in the sum-
mer reading piogram.

Jamie Beth Steingold will become a
bat mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 14,
at Temple Shir Shalom. She is the
daughter of Susan
and Marc Steingold
and sister of Dana,
Melissa and
Brandon. Excited
grandparents are
Temmie and Don
Velick and Eileen
and Elie Aboulafia.

Proud great-grandmother is Anna
Helman. Jamie is also the grand-
child of the late Joseph Steingold.
An honor student at Abbott
Middle School in West Bloomfield,
Jamie enjoys art, dance and sum-
mers at Camp Walden. Jamie plans
to honor the memory of her late
grandfather with a donation to the
Cancer Society. She also volunteered
her time at the Hechtman
Residence in West Bloomfield.

Brian Alan Weberman will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Oct. 14,
at Congregation
B'nai Moshe.
Participating in the
ceremony will be
his parents, Cheryl
and Aron
Weberman, along
with sisters Lindsey
and Rachel and
brother Eric. Excited are grandpar-
ents Linda Wenson and Freda
Weberman and great-grandmother
Mary Schoenfeld. Brian is also the
grandson of the late Leon
Weberman and the late Benjamin
Wenson.
Brian is a student at Warner
Middle School in Farmington Hills,
where he plays coronet in the
school band. He enjoys sports and
plays on a premier soccer league.
For his mitzvah project, Brian had a
book drive at B'nai Moshe.

Danya Belle Weltman will celebrate
her bat mitzvah during Sukkot ser-
vices on Sunday,
Oct. 15, at
Congregation Beth
Ahm. She is the
daughter of Dr.
Gary and Penina
Weltman and sister
of Dana, Aviela and
Sarita. Her proud
grandmothers are
Helen Weltman of Rochester, N.Y.,
and Esther Banuzada of Israel:
Danya is an honors student in
the seventh grade at Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. She is active in
soccer, basketball, gymnastics and
cheerleading during the school year.
She has attended Camp Seneca Lake
in upstate New York.
Danya enjoys visiting the seniors
living at Fleischman Residence in
West Bloomfield.
