ollowing are the leaders who
will be recognized at the
Jewish Home and Aging
Services dinner:
• 1974-1976: David NI. Miro, 91, of
West Palm Beach, Fla., a retired Detroit
attorney, who also is past president of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
• 1977-1979: Herbert A. Aronsson
of Bloomfield Hills, a retired printing-
business executive, who helped establish
the original Sinai Hospital in Detroit.
• 1980-1982: Marvin H. Fleischman
of Bloomfield Hills, an executive of
Peerless Distributing Co., whose family
has been active at JHAS for more than
50 years. Flesichman Residence was
named for his parents.
• 1983-1984: Robert A. Steinberg of
Bloomfield Hills, a consultant in sales
and the human resources field and for-
mer president and CEO of Sinai, who
helped plan and open Fleischman
Residence/Blumberg Plaza.
• 1985-1986: Paul Borman of
Bloomfield Township, retired supermar-
ket executive.
• 1987-1990: Daniel M. Clark of
Bloomfield Hills, an attorney and past
president of the Detroit Bar Association.
• 1990-1991: David B. Hermelin of
Bingham Farms, internationally recog-
nized businessman, philanthropist and
volunteer and former U.S. ambassador
to Norway
• 1991-1993: Jack Schon of
Bloomfield Hills, a Southfield attorney
for more than 50 years and current
president of the JHAS Development
Foundation.
• 1993-1995: Robert H. Nafraly of
West Bloomfield, executive vice presi-
dent and chief operating officer of Blue
Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan, and
past president of the Jewish Federation
of Metropolitan Detroit.
• 1995-1997: Janice B. Shatzman of
West Bloomfield, partner of KPMG
Peat Marwick LLP, Detroit.
• 1997-1999: Dr. Dan G. Guyer of
Huntington Woods, a psychiatrist in
Grosse Pointe, who helped open
Menorah House, Elan Village and the
Danto Family Health Care Center, and
is past president of Hillel Day School.
In addition, the dinner also will pay
tribute ro the six organization presidents
who are deceased. Those leaders and
their years of service are: Jacob Levin,
1907-1943; Myron A. Keyes, 1944-
1953; Gus D. Newman, 1954-1959;
Edward I. Fleischman, 1960-1965, Jack
0. Lefton, 1966-1970; and Milton K.
Mahler, 1971-1973.
