SOLOMON GOLD, 88, of Oak
Park, died Oct. 8.
He is survived by his daughter
and son-in-law, Elaine and Seymour
Cohen of Oak Park; son-in-law and
daughter-in-law, Sidney and Linda
Blackman; grandchildren, Aaron
and Linda Cohen, Marjorie and
Craig Deschner, Jeff and Betsy
Blackman, Marc and Jill Blackman,
Debbie Blackman and fiancee Scott
Emmer; great-grandchildren,
Rebecca, Joshua, Gabrielle,
Matthew. Mr. Gold was the beloved
husband of the late Myra Gold.
Services and interment were held
at Hebrew Memorial Park.

ALMA M. GOOEL, 91, of Detroit,
died Oct. 4. She was the former co-
owner of Standard Paint Company.
She was a life member of Temple
Beth El and was confirmed in 1924;
she was also a member of Hadassah,
the National Council of Jewish
Women and Women's American
ORT.
Mrs. Gooel is survived by her
daughter-in-law, Elaine Kaufman;
grandchildren, Lori and David
Schlanger, Bruce and Lisa Gooel,
Rebecca and Rodney Carey; great-
grandchildren, Rachel, Mara and
Matthew Schlanger, Lauren,
Stephanie, Jenna and Michelle
Gooel, Randi and Alexis Carey. For
69 years, she was the beloved wife
of the late Bert J. Gooel; dear moth-
er of the late Richard Gooel.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be directed
to the Richard Gooel Forest at
Jewish National Fund or Temple
Beth El. Arrangements by Ira

JORDAN PAUL ISAACS, 67, of
Farmington Hills, died Oct. 5. He
was a hospital administrator and
senior vice president of Mercy
Hospital in Muskegon. He was also
a vice president of the board of
Temple Kol Ami, member of Jewish
Community Center, past president
of Institute of Retired Professionals,
a past president of Temple B'nai
Israel in Muskegon and active in
numerous other organizations,
including B'nai B'rith.
Mr. Isaacs is survived by his wife,
Sydelle Isaacs; sons and daughters-
in-law, Neil and Janet Isaacs of
Haslett, Marshall and Elaine Isaacs
of Farmington Hills; grandchildren,
Hailey and Blake Isaacs; mother,
Ann Isaacs of Florida; sister and
brother-in-law, Rhoda and Kori
Black of Florida. He was the loving
son of the late Ben Isaacs; dear
brother of the late Burton Isaacs.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park. Contributions may be directed
to Temple Kol Ami or Temple B'nai
Israel, 391 West Webster at 4th,
Muskegon, MI 49440. Arrangements

MELANI FISHER KASH, 18, of
West Bloomfield, died Oct. 7. She
was a graduate of West Bloomfield
High School and a freshman at
Western Michigan University.
Miss Kash is survived by her par-
ents, Dr. Dennis and Shelley Kash
of West Bloomfield; sister, Randi
Kash; brother, Matthew Kash and
grandparents, Norman and Faye
Fisher. She was the dear grand-
daughter of the late Sol and the late
Sadie Kash.
Interment was at Hebrew
Memorial Park Cemetery.

JOSEPH S. KATZ, 77, of
Southfield, died Oct. 4. He was a
retired pharmacist with musical
roots. He received a music scholar-
ship to Wayne State University,
played music in the
army and later
joined the Jewish
Center Symphony
Orchestra.
At 40, he discov-
ered the recorder
and within years he
was playing in con-
certs and compos-
ing music for the
Joseph Katz
recorder. He also
performed with
many local synagogue choirs.
He is survived by his wife, Fern
Katz; sons and daughters-in-law,
Ralph and Deborah Katz of Ann
Arbor, Louis and Gail Busch Katz of
Corpus Christy, Texas; brother,
Bernard Katz of Detroit; grandchil-
dren, Rachel Katz, Naomi Katz, Sam
Katz, Ben Katz. Mr. Katz was the lov-
ing father of the late David Katz; lov-
ing brother of the late Bill Katz.
