"Many of the kids came up to me to shake my hand and thank me," Josh said. "I felt very good that this project made an impact on the kids. I wanted to do something different for my mitzvah project." Benedict Glazer, who served the synagogue for 11 years. Josh Rollins, son of Julie and David Rollins of Farmington, orga- nized the drive on behalf of the stu- dents at Detroit's B. Benedict Glazer Elementary School, named for the rabbi who served Beth El from 1941 to 1952. The 500-student school is in the cen- tral city, on LaBelle between Oakman and Davison. Beth El Sisterhood mem- bers tutor the stu- dents and also host book drives for them.
