Ninth-graders Jeremy
Baruch of West Bloomfield,
Josh Diskin of Farmington
Hills and Jonathan Guyer of
Huntington Woods represent-
ed the JAMD at a cross coun-

against Shrine High School of
Royal Oak and Cardinal
Mooney High School of
Marine City.
Out of 26 runners, mostly
juniors and seniors, Diskin
finished seventh in 23:57,
Baruch was 12th in 25:10
and Guyer finished 14th in
26:15. The 3.2-mile course
covered five laps around Royal
Oak's Memorial Park at 13
Mile Road and Woodward.
Athletic Director Bob
Shoemaker was proud of his
JAMD team and the entire
student body. The school is
also sponsoring boys' golf and
girls' basketball teams this fall.
"Out of an enrollment of 51,"
said Shoemaker, "almost half
[23] are participating in ath-
letics."
Shoemaker, who has
coached at Detroit area high
schools for nearly 30 years, is
coaching cross country and
basketball. Josh Mondry, a
leading Michigan amateur
golfer, is handling the golf
team. ❑
