s 165 athletes with special needs
walked or wheeled to their seats, the
fans enthusiastically applauded.
The opening ceremony of the West
Bloomfield Community Fame Games on
Sunday, Sept. 17, began with Aaron Copland's
stirring "Fanfare to the Common Man" over the
loudspeaker. The lobby of the Jewish
Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit in
West Bloomfield last Sunday overflowed with a
record number of participants and attendees.
