The Michigan Jewish Conference, a program of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, serves a statewide network of 14 Jewish com- Elaine Pearlman munities. The Lansing-based conference was formed to build and maintain a Jewish communal pres- ence in the state capital and to facili- tate the political and community relations needs of its members. It also provides a forum for the statewide Jewish communities to share ideas. Pearlman is president of the Greater Lansing Jewish Welfare Federation and vice president of Michigan State University Hillel.
