the new concept in kosher carry-out ...
and says that it is the only one with
sweet and sour salmon, too ... Kosher
Gourmet Delights, he says, goes through
about 30 portions a week ... each one a
half pound, skinless and boneless.
Kosher frozen shelves are filled with
goodies that comprise six soups, five
kugels, souffles, etc. ... Fresh soup, sand-
wiches, salads, hot meals, chicken dish-
es, fish dishes, vegetarian and side dish-
es, three meat dishes, etc. are available
for folks to eat at the 11 tables.
It is not a restaurant ... There is no
waitperson service ... And the tables
are there solely for convenience ...
But Sperber's Kosher Gourmet
Delights is enjoying a continuous
growth in wide popularity for both
eating in and take-out.
Sperber's Kosher Catering itself ... an
aspect of the business ... has not only
expanded into new markets and service
outside of the standard catering area ...
but earlier this year, it was chosen to
provide kosher meals at Beaumont
Hospital in Royal Oak ... It is branching
out to other hospitals as well and has
begun servicing St. Joseph's in Pontiac.
Needless to say, Sperber's has come
a long way since its formation in the
late 1960 days when it began at the
Jewish Community Center on Meyers
in Detroit.
As a valued addition to the Whole
Foods Market on Orchard and 14,
Sperber's Kosher Gourmet Delights has
opened a lot of eyes, both Jewish and
non-Jewish, to the wide diversification
of kosher cooking and presentation.
