humility, for all the high esteem in
which he was held; and a writer — a
poet whose words resound with the

Daniel Rosenbaum is now coordi-
nator of social services at Davenport
University Eastern Region Warren
Campus, formerly Detroit College
of Business. He remembers well the
sight of his father writing the canta-
tas lyrics, surrounded by books and
papers, with his 6-foot, 4-inch frame
stretched perpendicularly across the
bed.
"The rabbi gave me the sections
so fast, I didn't have time to worry
about the music," said
composer/conductor Kerry Stutz, a
music education graduate of the
University of Michigan. Despite the
haste, the work is passionate, musi-
cally coherent and obviously appro-
priate for young children.
After the performance, choir

member Marcia Eder Leibson, now
the synagogue's educational director,
read the words on a plaque to be
mounted on the education wing.
The plaque is inscribed: "This edu-
cation wing is dedicated to the
memory of Rabbi Milton
Rosenbaum, whose exemplary life
and commitment to education will
always be lovingly remembered by
his family and congregation."

EMES, Temple Emanu-El's
seniors group, will host a talk
this weekend by the late Rabbi
Milton Rosenbaum's son Aaron
Rosenbaum. The widely known
political analyst and indepen-
dent consultant is a former
director of research for the
American Israel Public Affairs
Committee. Rosenbaum will
discuss "Israel at Risk" from 1-
2:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at
the temple.

Apples And Honey
coming Sept. 24

The annual "Apples and Honey
and Lots, Lots More" communi-
ty-wide program will be 1:30-
4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at
the Jewish Community Center
in Oak Park.
There will be a Magical
Mystery Mitzvah Tour scavenger
hunt on the biblical playground.
A family scrapbook and
newsletter will be distributed.
The event also will offer crafts,
puppet shows and caramel
apples.
"Apples and Honey" is co-
sponsored by Jewish Experiences

Agency for Jewish Education of
Metropolitan Detroit; the Jewish
News and the JCC.
Reservations are required for
the Shofar Making Factory, an
activity open to ages 8 and older
