arty Elson has become an icon in his own time.
If you mention "Laser Larry" to surgeons, physicians and operating
room nurses at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit, they know exactly who
you are talking about.
Elson is memorable. What remains with you after a first encounter with him is
not his technical expertise — which is impressive. Nor is it his ability to manage the
West Bloomfield Area Laser Center and maintain the equipment. What is most
striking is that this man has a passion for what he does.
