Foods, but now contains only the prod-
ucts and departments of the Merchant
of Vino when it was owned by Ed
Jonna, who founded it in 1974 ... and
saw it grow to four superstores and
three wine and specialty stores ... Ed
sold the name and chain to Whole
Foods in 1998.
His and wife Juliette's son, Marc
Jonna, who grew up learning the busi-
ness, today is national wine buyer for
Whole Foods Market ... With more
than 3,000 types of wine and hundreds
of beer brands, the Merchant of Vino
store in Farmington Hills has gourmet
foods, a full deli, salad bar and groceries
... Also a large catering menu, lunch
menu and meals to go ... plus gift bas-

low-fat cheesecake ... Sure is, and here's
the recipe for one with 12 servings ...
Ingredients: Vegetable cooking spray,
graham cracker crumbs, 3 (8 oz.) bars
of softened fat-free cream cheese, 1 cup
of sugar, 3 tablespoons of cornstarch, 16
oz. of fat-free sour cream, 6 egg whites
or 3/4 cup of no-cholesterol egg prod-
uct, 1/2 cup of skim milk, 2 teaspoons
of vanilla.
Directions: Spray a 9-inch pan lightly
with the cooking spray ... Coat the bot-
tom and side with crumbs ... Bear the
cream cheese, sugar and cornstarch until
smooth ... Add the sour cream, egg
whites, milk and vanilla, mixing until
smooth ... Pour the mixture into the
prepared pan ... Bake at 325 degrees
until the cheesecake is just set in the
center and beginning to brown, 45 to
50 minutes ... Cool in the oven with the
heat turned off for 2 hours ... Refrigerate
until chilled, 4 hours or overnight.
