sign copies of it at the event.

Yad Ezra Ors
Holiday Cards

Yad Ezra, the kosher food pantry in Oak
Park, recently sponsored a Jewish New
Year greeting-card contest for children
ages 5-15, organized by board member
Lori Rubin. Judges Madeline Posner,
Ruth Rattner and Andy Lee chose win-
ners in the four age categories. They are:
Nicole Davidson, Joshua Finn, Emily
Sallen and Ethan Zavier.
The winning Rosh HaShana cards
have been reprinted and are available for
purchase in assorted packages of eight
cards for $25. Orders must be received
by Sept. 18. For ordering information,
call Yad Ezra, (248) 548-3663.

Dedication Set
At B'nai Moshe

Congregation B'nai Moshe will dedicate
a repaired Torah and a new Torah man-
tle during services Shabbat morning,
Aug. 26. The repair of the Torah and
purchase of the mantle were made possi-
ble by a donation from Mrs. Eda Reed
in memory of her husband Emil, who
died in 1999.
Eda and Emil Reed, both Holocaust
survivors, came to the Detroit area after
World War II. Together they founded
Reed Sportswear, a leather-coat factory.
The Reeds have been longtime members
and supporters of B'nai Moshe.
