that was restored
recently to the tune
of eight million
dollars. Loaded
with the famous
Roycroft crafts and
furniture and
murals from one
hundred years ago
and still in beautiful condition. The
furniture is like the Stickley furniture
and built to last for hundreds of years.
One would think that it is uncomfort-
able, but believe it or not, it is very
comfortable indeed. We had dinner
out on the covered porch that over-
looks the campus where years ago
women strolled with their gentlemen
and carried parasols to come and dine
at the inn. The charm and charisma is
still there and the spirits roam to take
you back in time."

Know Dept. ... Question ... They
weren't invented in France, so why
does everybody call them "French
fries?" ... Answer ... It's true, the
French fry wasn't invented in France
(its origin is probably Belgian) ... But
the "French" in French fries doesn't
refer to its country of origin ... It
refers to the way in which this side
dish is prepared ... Food that is cut
into strips is said to be "Frenched"
Since French fries are strips of potato
that have been fried, they became
known as French-fried potatoes, or
"French fries."
OLDIE BUT GOODIE Dept. ...
Fellow stumbled into a bar and bet
the bartender he could tell the ingredi-
ents in any mixed drink ... The bar-
tender tossed in a large glass the rem-
nants of an unfinished martini, added
some Scotch and soda, brandy, rum
and cola ... The character sipped the
drink and correctly named the ingre-
dients one by one ... "Just a lucky
guess," said the bartender. "Let's try
again" ... This time he gave the guy
just plain water ... The drunk wet his
lips with the water, stared at in corn-
plete amazement and said, "I give up!
What ish it?"
A wife called on a psychiatrist with
the complaint, "My husband thinks he's
Moses" ... The shrink assured her that
the delusion would pass. "I hope so,"
the wife sighed. "But meanwhile, how
can I keep him from parting the water
in the tub when I'm taking a bath."
From Seymour Schwartz ... "Do
you serve crabs?" ... "Yes, please sit
down at the bar, no one will bother
you." ... As Avery Warnick tells it,
"Do you serve crabs?" ... "We serve
anyone."
