As part of her mitzvah projects, Amanda helped raise donations for the Jewish National Fund. A home- schooled student for academics and fine arts, Amanda participates as a member of the forensics team at Birmingham Covington School. She is a competitive figure skater and loves reading and all water sports. Madison Marcus will be called to the Torah as a bat mitz- vah on Saturday, - Aug. 19, at Congregation Beth Shalom. She is the daughter of Howard and Zoe Marcus of Southfield and sister to Aaron, Cale and Mimi Marcus. Madison is an honor student at Berkshire Middle School in Birmingham. Her many interests include baseball (Madison and her Franklin team reached the playoff championship games) and forensics (she received a ribbon in the Ann Arbor Forensics Challenge. Madison also participates on the Berkshire swim team and plays in the advanced orchestra at school. She has been very active with Beth Shalom's Kadima youth group, where she was elected vice president of communications.
