Songs from Broadway to opera, per-
formed by the Michigan Opera
Theatre touring company, will high-
light the Jewish Women
International's fall event, "A Night
on the Town," Wednesday, Sept. 6,
at Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Robin Lash is chair for the event,
which begins with boutique shop-
ping at 5 p.m., followed by dinner
at 7 and the performance.
Amy Rubin, past regional chair and
JWI national board member, will bring
greetings from the national office.
Barbara Goldsmith, reservations chair
and president of JWI's Morgenthau
Chapter, also will bring greetings from
the JWI Council of Metropolitan
Detroit Steering Committee.
Other JWI council members
working on the event are Ruthe
Goldstein, boutique chair; Ruth
Blackman, volunteer coordinator;
Barbara Coden, invitations and pub-
licity; Cyndy Moss, decorations;
Sally Lippitt, seating; members at
large Marsha Baker, Carolyn Fine
and Evelyn Tichik.
JWI supports two major pro-
grams. Its Residential Treatment
Center in Israel helps extremely dis-
turbed youngsters from abusive
homes cope with their problems
without the use of drugs. Nationally,
JWI also has worked in the area of
domestic violence for over 20 years
and runs many programs that deal
with that issue.
Admission is $36 or $45. For
reservations by Aug. 28 and infor-
mation, call Robin Lash, (248)
661-5594.
