kk*: O O Cti p KERI GUTEN COHEN Story Development Editor he inaugural season of the Fresh Air Society's Grand Resort at Mullet Lake has scored a hit with families. This summer, they've experienced Jewish programming, kosher food, renovated individual cabins, arts and crafts, nature, togetherness and a sandy waterfront to go water-skiing, fishing, kayaking, sail-boarding and swimming. Families enjoy playing together, but adults and chil- dren at Grand Resort also have separate program- ming, which allows freedom for everyone. The high ratio of counselors to children keeps both groups happy. The 18-acre resort, which first opened in the 1930s as Silver Lodge, is on Mullett Lake about 25 miles from Mackinac Island. The property was given to the United Jewish Foundation by Nancy and Stephen Grand of Bloomfield Township to be operat- ed by the Fresh Air Society and used in its Maddin Family Camps program.
