LILYAN ROSENBLATT, 89, of
Waterford, died Aug. 12. She was a
member of Congregation B'nai
David Sisterhood.
Mrs. Rosenblatt is survived by her
son and daughter-in-law, Stan and
Esther Rosenblatt of Waterford;
grandchildren, Allen, Robert and
Michael Rosenblatt. Interment at
Beth Shalom Cemetery.

DR. IRVING R. SCHMOLKA, 82,
of Grosse Ile, died Aug. 10. He was a
chemist at Colgate in New Jersey and
at BSAF in Wynadotte; he was a con-
sultant after retirement. Dr. Schmolka
was responsible for numerous patents
used in detergents and pharmaceuti-
cals. He served in the medical corps in
the South Pacific during World War
II, was a member of the Jewish War
Veterans, B'nai B'rith, Beth Isaac
Synagogue and he contributed articles
to the Jewish News.
He is survived by his son, Sandy
Schmolka of Grosse Ile; daughter and
son-in-law, Dotty and Brain Gray of
North Dakota; stepdaughter and her
husband, Bonnie Brenner and Earl
Rudner; stepson and his wife, Jeffrey
and Sheri Weiss of Farmington Hills;
grandchildren, Amber, Autumn and
Aprile Gray, Holly and Danny Gross,
Melissa and Mark Mandel, Andy and
Tammy Brenner, Randi and Ron
Fogel, Bryan Weiss, Eric Weiss; great-
grandchildren, Samantha Gross, Ben
Gross, Allie Mandel, Jake Mandel;
sister, Edith Adler of New York. He
was the beloved husband of the late
Thelma Weiss Schmolka and the late
Elsie Schmolka.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
