Alysse Jaclyn Cohen will become a
bat mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Saturday, Aug. 12.
She is the daughter
of Suzy and Lonny
Cohen and sister of
Alexander. Proud
grandparents are
Joyce and Ron
Burin, Shelly Ettore
and Sol and Sharon
Cohen.
A student and cheerleader at
Mason Middle School in Waterford,
Alysse has been involved with Odyssey
of the Mind for the past five years.
She enjoys sports, particularly volley-
ball, softball, swimming, water skiing
and other water sports. Alysse volun-
teers on a regular basis at a veterinary
clinic; among her other mitzvah pro-
jects, she helped tutor elementary
school children and assisted in Temple
Israel's nursery summer camp.
Sarah Allison Oppenheim will be
called to the Torah
as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Aug. 12, at

the daughter of Dr.
Gary S. and Sharon
L. Oppenheim. She
is the sister of
Zachary Reuben.
Sarah's very proud grandparents are
Helen F. Bayles and Morton and
Corrine "Cookie" Oppenheim. She is
also the granddaughter of the late Dr.
Richard J. Bayles.
Sarah is an eighth-grade honor stu-
dent in the Reach Program at Walled
Lake Middle School. She enjoys read- -
ing, music, singing and socializing. As
part of her 13-mitzvot program, she
sold poppies for the Jewish War
Veterans and did numerous small
community-service projects. Sarah will
continue her Hebrew education at
Adat Shalom in the Nosh 'n Drosh
program. She plans to donate her cen-
terpieces to local elementary schools.
Sarah is thrilled to be sharing her bat
mitzvah weekend with family and
friends from all over the United States
and Uruguay.
Zachary Reuben Oppenheim will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, Aug.
12, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. Zachary
is the son of Dr.
Gary S. and Sharon
L. Oppenheim. He
is the brother of
Sarah Allison.
Zachary's very proud
grandparents are
Helen F. Bayles and Morton and
Corrine "Cookie" Oppenheim. He is
also the grandson of the late Dr.
Richard J. Bayles.
Zachary is an eighth-grade honor
student at Walled Lake Middle
School. He enjoys computers, in-line
skating, music and reading. He looks
forward to being on the football team
this coming school year.
