JOSEPH SCHWARTZ, 88, of Beverly
Hills, died Aug. 1. He was a retired
builder and land developer and owner of
Country Club Estates and Country
Club Manor in Flint. He was a member
of Temple Emanu-El, former member of
Temple Beth El in Flint, past president
of the Flint Builders Association, past
board member of the Michigan Builders
Association and very active with Detroit
Opera Theatre.
Mr. Schwartz is survived by his
daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and
Donald Nurenberg of Bloomfield Hills;
granddaughters, Leah Nurenberg; broth-
er and sister-in-law, Leo and Julie

Schwartz of Missouri; sister-in-law, Pearl
Schwartz. He was the beloved husband
of the late Lillian Haas Schwartz; bear
brother of the late Sam Schwartz, the
late Manny Schwartz, the late Herman
Schwartz and the late Simon Schwartz.
Interment at Flint Memorial Park.

RUTH SYLVIA SCHWARTZ, 70, of
Southfield, died Aug. 1. She was an
interior designer and owner of House to
House EZ Move in Southfield as well as
an American Society of Interior
Designers member, a past president of
the International Furnishing and Design
Association and a member of
Congregation Beth Ahm Sisterhood.
Mrs. Schwartz is survived by her sons
and daughters-in-law, Hal and Connie
Schwartz, Steve and Barb Schwartz of
West Bloomfield; daughter, Terry
Schwartz and finace Jefry Weinberg;
grandchildren, Blair, Lindsey, Brad and
Marci Schwartz; brothers and sisters-i n-
law, Ted and Jackie MatlQw of
Pennsylvania, David and Ann Marlow
of Connecticut; sisters and brother in-
law, Sedell Bloch of Pennsylvania and
Dorothy and Max Sparber of Florida.
