Up And Out
Is For Seniors

The Up and Out Committee of
National Council of Jewish Women,
Greater Detroit Section, provides pro-
gramming with transportation for
seniors.
Upcoming fall programs have been
planned by Myra Gross and her commit-
tee. The first program will be 2 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 13, for a matinee per-
formance of The Immigrant at the Jewish
Ensemble Theatre in West Bloomfield.
On Friday, Oct. 6, at Temple Emanu-El,
columnist Jeff Zaslow will offer some
humorous and educational true-life sto-
ries. At 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, there
will be a theater party at the Landmark
Maple Art Theater in Bloomfield
Township. The annual Chanuka party
will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at
Mat Shalom Synagogue, featuring
Temple Beth El Cantor Stephen Dubov.
There is a charge for each program.

The Blumensteins, founders of the
congregation, are the parents of Gordon
and Rita Fishman, Ron and Fran
Rogers, Harold and Penny Blumenstein,
Gerald and Eileen Borsand and Fred
and Leah Ruby. They have been
involved with the Torah Center from its
inception 25 years ago.
Ron Rogers built the first Torah
Center; he and Fred Ruby are past presi-
dents. Fred Ruby is chairman of the din-
ner. Paul Draznin, Arthur Liss and Paul
Magy are-chairmen of the souvenir din-
ner journal. Guest speaker will be Rabbi
Manis Friedman, chasidic philosopher,
