The Jewish Federation's Young Adult Division Couples Committee hosted a kosher wine tasting in June at La Difference Restaurant in Farmington Hills. The 25 couples sipped four different kosher wines presented by Simon Rotberg from Majestic Food Market. Rotberg provided commen- tary on the vintages, which included Baron Herzog Merlot and Chardonnay, Teal Lake Shiraz from Australia and Rashi Nloslato D'Asti, a dessert wine. "The event was a tremendous success," said Paul Silverman, who chaired the committee along with Lee Trepeck and Nancy Goldstein. "There was a need in this community to outreach to young couples, and this was a begin- ning to an exciting program." Josh Cohen, Young Adult Division director, concurred. "The turnout was phenomenal. It is obvious that young Jewish couples want to expand their social horizon with a fun, classy Jewish component." — Linda Bachrack
