t the Detroit law firm of Honigman Miller
Schwartz and Cohn the summer of 2000
may not be remembered for mega land
deals, fierce litigation and complex tax
issues. This year there was a fashion judgment —
summer casual every day.
Some male attorneys shed their three-piece suits
and button-down look for a golf shirt and khaki pants,
while the women added color and pizzazz to their
"dress for success" navy outfits.
At a recent bat mitzvah, I heard about the summer
fashion dilemma from Alan Stuart Schwartz and his
wife Sandy. I then enlisted the help of my colleague,
Linda Bachrack, and friend, Herschel Fink, who just
happens to be the media attorney for the Jewish News.

spent a day at the law firm interviewing
and photographing some of the most
fashionable and powerful attorneys in
town.
