Three weeks after the Orthodox
Union's Special Commission was
formed to investigate allegations of
abuse by Rabbi Baruch Lanner, the
former director of regions for National
Conference of Synagogue Youth, the
commission is seeking individuals
with information regarding the allega-
tions.
Richard Joel, commission chairman,
said the investigation concerning alleged
abuses by Rabbi Lanner considers a
period dating back nearly 30 years.

Moser Murder

Reward Established

Family and friends of Manfred Moser,
the 88-year-old businessman slain July
24 along with his office manager at his
Detroit offices ("A Long Life Cut
Short" obituary, July 28, page 130)
have started a reward fund. Their
hope is that the fund
will prompt citizens to
assist police in solving
the double homicide.
According to

the victim, police sug-
gested initiating the

Home Loan
Incentives Raised

The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit is hoping an increased incentive
from its successful Neighborhood
Project program for Jewish home buyers
will help two institutions seeking more
of a Jewish presence in their areas.
The upper limits of home loans
through the Neighborhood Project
have been increased from $10,000 to
$15,000 for the area bordered by
Greenfield, 10 Mile, Pierce Street and
Mount Vernon.
"That particular location has not
been attractive, for whatever reason, to
Jewish home buyers," said Marion
Freedman, Neighborhood Project
director. She called Yeshiva Gedolah,
just east of Greenfield in Oak Park,
and Beth Tefilo Emanuel Tikvah, on
the west side of Greenfield, "two insti-
