Bar-Ilan Event
Names Co-Chairs

Stacey Crane and Alan Zekelman
have been named co-chairs of the
Detroit Friends of Bar-Ilan
University's annual event. Featuring
Al Franken of Saturday Night Live, it
will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept.
13, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
Crane chairs the Jewish Federation
of Metropolitan Detroit Business
Practices Committee and the special
gifts solicitor train-
ing for Federation's
Annual Campaign.
He is treasurer of the
United Jewish
Foundation; vice
president, Jewish
Vocational Service;
co-chair,
Stacey Crane
Congregation
Shaarey Zedek
Education
Committee; treasur-
er, Detroit Business
Initiative; and mem-
ber, Partnership
2000 Steering
Committee.
Alan Zekelman
Zekelman is a
member of the exec-
utive board of Bar-
Ilan University as well as a member of
its American board of trustees. He
and his wife, Gwen, both members of
the Bar-Ilan Presidential Founders
Society, are sponsors of a classroom
on the new campus and have been
sponsors of various scholarship pro-
grams. He is first vice president of the
Holocaust Memorial Center and past
dinner chairman, and also a member
of the Yeshiva College Board at
Yeshiva University.
