day get-together of the Central High
School class of 1950 ... Sunday and
Monday, Sept. 9 and 10.
The 50th anniversary reunion for
the graduates will be for those whose
class of about 750 walked down the
commencement aisle at Detroit's
Mackenzie High School, because of its
larger auditorium, back in June of
1950.
Among the notable alumni expect-
ed to attend are New York Magazine
food writer Gael Greene; New York
fashion designer Kenneth Lane;
Detroit Weight Watchers chief Florine
Mark; retired Ford Motor Company
Vice President Mervin Manning, and
others.
The reunion will be Saturday, Sept.
9, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Novi, I-
96 at Novi Road, across from Twelve
Oaks Mall ... beginning with cock-
tails at 7 p.m., followed by dinner at 8
and dancing ... Cost is $50 per per-.
son, plus a cash bar.
The class will hold a brunch at 11
a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at the hotel ...
