Congregation B'nai Moshe social
and cultural groups, for varying
ages, are announcing local activities
for the coming year.
• HaMishpacha (60 and over) has
scheduled a picnic and plannin.
party for Monday, Aug. 7, at Drake
Sports Park and will attend a perfor-
mance of The Immigrant at the
Jewish Ensemble Theatre on
Wednesday, Sept. 6. Ruth Raimi is
the group's coordinator.
• Ahava (40-60), chaired by Kerry
Greenhut, plans a pool party on
Sunday, Aug. 27; an outing to hear
violinist Itzhak Perlman on Sunday,
Sept. 24, followed by dinner at a
vegetarian restaurant; a sing-along
evening; a guided tour of Jewish
Detroit and a camping trip.
• Yachad (25-45), under the
chairmanship of Marc Berman, will
host a Euchre tournament, a visit to
the Fridge and a family event at All
Fired Up.

JCC Co-Sponsors
Fame Games

The Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit will co-spon-
sor the West Bloomfield
Community Fame games, scheduled
10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at
the JCC in West Bloomfield.
Co-sponsoring the games with
the JCC are the Michigan Jewish
Sports Foundation, West Bloomfield
Schools Community Education,
West Bloomfield Parks and
Recreation and Mel Farr Lincoln
Mercury.
The West Bloomfield Community
Fame Games offer people with spe-
cial needs the opportunity to join
athletic competition in a community
environment. There will be swim-
ming and track-and-field events,
such as a 50-yeard run and tennis
ball throw.
Mel Farr Sr., the former Detroit
Lions running back and president of
Mel Farr Automotive Group, will be
among the guest speakers at the
opening ceremony. The day will
conclude with a parry for the ath-
letes and their families. Registration
deadline is Friday, Sept. 1.
