Adat Shalom Awards College Scholarships

Adat Shalom Synagogue awarded two
scholarships to outstanding college stu-
dents.
Josh Wohl is the recipient of the 24th
annual Harry and Sarah Laker
Memorial Scholarship, which offers a
stipend for study in Israel. Wohl, 20, is a
University of Michigan honors student
entering his junior year. A graduate of
Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit, he was a part of the 1996 Teen
Mission to Israel and a United
Synagogue Youth Etgar Trip. For the lat-

Schwartz was active in United
Synagogue Youth. This is her fourth sea-
son as a staff member at Camp
Tamarack. Schwartz is interested in
becoming an administrator who would
plan and implement creative programs
in a Jewish day-school setting. She will
use her scholarship for study in this area
at U-M. She is the daughter of Sharon
and Lawrence Schwartz.
