In addition to the $2 million gift from the Weisbergs, DMC has pledges of $1.5 million from the estate of Robert Grow, $500,000 from the Sinai Guild and $250,000 from the Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation. Bloomfield Hills' Irving Laker, fundraising committee chair, raised $3 million by opening his home for an event that drew 80 patrons. Dr. Forman diagnosed his prostate cancer three years ago. Calling the doctor "very understand- ing," Laker says, "he made the experi- ence the most rewarding medical experi- ence I have been through.
