Esteemed community philanthropists Sarah and Irving Pitt have purchased two ARMDI Mobile Intensive Care Unit ambulances and one Bloodmobile for
Magen David Adorn, bringing to a total five such advanced support units they have generously donated to Israel's National Emergency Medical, Blood,
Ambulance and Disaster Service.
The Pitts dedicated the three fully equipped ambulances to honor three generations of family: their sons Murray, Leonard and Barry and their wives; their
grandchildren arid a great-grandchild. The Pitt ambulances will soon be shipped to Israel where they will bring emergency relief to victims of accidents,
terrorist attacks, medical distress and life to newborn babies. Backed by the most technically sophisticated lifesaving devices on bard the ambulances,
paramedics can administer on-the-spot emergency care without delay and analyze treatment options en route to the hospital..
Champions of Jewish causes and active-civic supporters, the Pitts were lauded by Manny Charach, Chairman of the John J. Mames Chapter - Michigan
Region of ARMDI. "Not a day passes without seeing the work of this remarkable family who has contributed so much to the welfare of the Jewish
community here, and in Israel. The legacy which*Sarah and Irving Pitt have created is a keystone for the entire family who have learned tzedakah from the
teachings and 'earnings of our forefathers and which they have passed on to their children." Charach noted in presenting the Farmington Hills couple
with the ARMDI Maimonides Awar'd commemorating their humanitarian contribution. "In honoring your family," Charach continued, "there are people in
Israel today who will owe their futures to you because of your precious lifesaving ambulances."
American Red Hagen David for Israel, authorized tax exempt organization, is the sole support arm in the United States of Magen David Adorn in Israel. For information call ARMDI 353-0434.
