Joseph is an honor student at
Abbott Middle School in West
Bloomfield, where he is on the
wrestling team. His favorite things
include movies, reading, archery, water
sports, volunteering at Yad Ezra and
spending summers at Camp Ramah in
New England.
To honor his family and friends
who shared his simcha, Joseph has cho-
sen to make a donation to the Shalom
Ralph Alcove at Congregation B'nai
Moshe.

Aaron Jason Stein will be called to the
Torah to celebrate his bar mitzvah on
Saturday, June 24, at
Adat Shalom
Synagogue. Aaron is
the son of Ilene and
David Goldberg and
Barry and Sondra
Stein and brother to
Gabriel Goldberg.
Aaron is the grand-
son of Leonard and
Beverly Mitz, Alvin and Cynthia Stein,
Samuel and Jean Cascade and the late
Milton E. Goldberg.
Aaron is a student at O.E. Dunckel
Middle School in Farmington Hills. He
enjoys hockey, in-line skating, playing
the saxophone and video games. He
also enjoys the time he spends at camp.
Among his mitzvah projects, Aaron
helped out at Yad Ezra, bagged lunches
for the homeless at Adat Shalom and
served at the COTS shelter in Detroit.

Michelle Asher Weitman will be called
to the Torah as a bat mitzvah Saturday,
June 24, at Congregation Shir Tikvah
in Troy. Michelle is
the daughter of
Lester and Corinne
Asher Weitman of
Huntington Woods.
She is also big sister
to Abigail Rose
Weitman. Proud
grandparents are Inga
Asher of Hopewell,
Va., formerly of West Bloomfield, and
Kenneth Weitman of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Michelle is also the granddaughter of
the late Mac Asher and Ruth Weingast
Weitman.
At her bat mitzvah, Michelle will
wear the tallit her father Lester wore at
his bar mitzvah. She will read from the
Torah that came from Temple Beth
Jacob in Pontiac, where her mother
Corinne belonged in her youth.
Michelle attends Anderson Middle
School in Berkley, where she plays clar-
inet in the school band. She enjoys

horseback riding, music, reading, com-
puters and attending Camp Michigania
during the summer.
For her mitzvah project, Michelle
volunteered at the Royal Oak Animal
Shelter. She also collected over 400
stuffed animals for Community EMS
Ambulance Service to give to children
they transport.

Keelah Williams will celebrate her bat
mitzvah on Friday, June 23, at the
Birmingham
Temple. Rabbi
Sherwin Wine will
lead the service.
Keelah is the daugh-
ter of Susan and
Kevin Williams of
Royal Oak. Also par-
ticipating in the cer-
emony will be
Keelah's grandmoth-
ers Elizabeth Casselman of Surprise,
Ariz., and Marie Williams of Sydney,
Australia.
Keelah's presentation will be on the
heroic life and contributions to human-
ity of Rose Schneiderman, an early
woman's labor organizer.
Keelah is a student at the
International Academy in Bloomfield
Hills. She is active in band, soccer, the
Future Cities Project and is a madrikha
for Sunday school and Hebrew school
at the Birmingham Temple.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Joshua Ari Klein was called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
June 17, at Beth
Samuel Jewish
Center in
Ambridge, Pa. Josh
is the son of Milton
and Lynn Sacks
Klein of Sewickley,
Pa., and the brother
of Dan and Liz.
Proud grandparents
are Flora and Jerry Sacks of Novi and
Sandra Klein of Pittsburgh.
Josh is an honor student at Quaker
Valley Middle School. He enjoys
computer games, camping and visit-
ing family in Michigan. He is active
in Boy Scouts and hopes to earn the
Ner Tamid Award and become an
Eagle Scout.
Josh spent many hours on several
community service projects, including
helping with activities at Beth
Samuel, placing flags on veterans'
graves and helping to restore and
paint community buildings.
