NCJW Hosts
Seniors Day

National Council of Jewish Women,
Greater Detroit Section, will host its
Up and Out for Seniors Day at noon
Monday, June 19, in the Beverly Hills
Park gazebo. The park is on Beverly
Street between Southfield and
Evergreen.
NCJW's Up and Out committee
offers activities for seniors, both men
and women, who are often otherwise
homebound.
Transportation for the outing is
provided from designated locations.
Cost for lunch, bingo and prizes is $5
per person. Seniors who wish to par-
ticipate and volunteers who can help -
with this and other activities, may call
the NCJW office, (248) 355-3300.

The heritage that makes you Jewish may bring hope to millions who suffer from mental
illness.

Johns Hopkins scientists, led by Dr. Ann Pulver, are closing in on the biological causes of
bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Finding the cause could be a huge step toward
new, more effective treatments and medications for these disorders.

While Jewish individuals are no more likely to develop mental illness, the Jewish tradition
of marrying within the faith makes the genetic trail much easier to follow. And that's why
we need your help.

If you're of Jewish descent, and a living family member has been diagnosed with either
bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, please call to learn more about this important,
confidential Johns Hopkins research study.

If you qualify, we'll schedule an interview at a time and place convenient for you, along
with a blood sample. Compensation is provided.

Call today. Your ancestors could bring new hope to millions of people, and to
generations to come.

Please call 1-888-289-4095 for more information.
