HYMAN GASTMAN, 92, of N.
Miami Beach, Fla., died June 8.
He is survived by his sister, Lillian
Levine; niece and nephew, Thomas

nephews. He was the beloved hus-
band of the late Esther Gastman.

GEORGE HABER, 65, of Las
Vegas, Nev., died June 7. Mr. Haber
was a chemist. He was a member of
Temple Ner Tamid in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his wife,

DR. DONALD HOFFER, 53, of
Frazier Park, Calif., formerly of
Detroit, died June 8. Dr. Hoffer was
an optometrist for Kaiser
Permanente in California. His spe-
cialty was working with low-vision
patients. He was a_guitarist, and in
earlier years enjoyed teaching blind
students guitar. He had written gui-
tar lesson books and produced
records and tapes for the blind. He
was commissioned by the Library of
Congress in Washington, D.C., to
label their tapes in Braille. Dr.
Hoffer also enjoyed playing jazz
piano and had recently become a
ham radio operator.
Dr. Hoffer is survived by his wife,
Maria Hoffer; sons, Anthony Hoffer,
Noah Hoffer; sister and brother-in-
law, Janet and Stuart Rappaport. Dr.
Hoffer was the beloved son of the
late Martin and Frances Hoffer.
