HMC Begins
Docent Training
The Holocaust Memorial Center will
start a new docent training session 10
a.m. Wednesday, June 21, at the Peck
Educational Conference Center at
the HMC, 6602 W. Maple Road,
West Bloomfield.
Docents guide groups on walking
tours through the HMC, explain the
exhibits and interpret the history and
lessons of the Holocaust.
Coordinator for the training pro-
gram is docent Judy Miller, a HMC
board member and retired teacher.
Participants view videos, read
assigned books and articles and share
the experiences of seasoned docents.
A one-on-one walk-through tour with
a member of the docent-training
committee completes the program.
The training can be tailored to
meet participants' needs and sched-
ules. Future docents can complete
their training at their own pace.
Once they have - finished the pro-
gram, they can choose the day or
days on which they would like to
serve.
