7) Fan Letter
Ask your child, "If you could write a
I fan letter to anyone in the world, who
would it be?" A singer? A sports star?
I Your rabbi? A teacher? A film star?
Suggest it's someone he or she
admires, or has always wanted to ask
certain questions. Be sure to encour-
age your child to:
• State her age (celebrities are
more likely to respond to children)
• Briefly introduce herself
• Ask a few questions
• Request a photo
After a rough draft, type up the letter
:and print it. With a little research, its
I easy enough to find celebrity address-
! es, either on the. Internet or at your
local library (you can even call the
I library and ask for the research desk.

up the address for you). There are sev-
eral celebrity address guides out there,
but if these haven't been published in
1999 or 2000, don't bother.
While you should warn your child.
I that not all celebrities will respond
(and some may take months to do
I so), be assured that many of them
actually will, and it will be very excit-
ing when the letter arrives.
#8) Make The Connection
Here's a fun and quick game that
:children will love, and along the way
you'll learn a little about the way your
I son or daughter thinks, and you'll
have a lot of laughs.
1 All you need is some paper and a
pen and a handful of players —
preferably family, or, at a minimum,
I very close friends. The first person
I writes down any word. The second
person writes down a word that
somehow has some relation to the
first. For example, person A writes:
Moon
Person B writes:
Cheese
The first person now must guess the
connection which, in -this case, is
pretty obvious: A moon made of
green cheese.

Now, the third person, Person C, .
writes down a word that connects
with:
