rant, it's la Vieille Maison on Palmetto
Park Road in Boca Raton. Other good
restaurants are Houston's, Smith &
Wollensky and Joe's Stone Crab.
Shirley and I drive all the way to Palm
Beach in search of good eating. Our
dear friend, snowbird Seymour
Grundy, is also always on the hunt for
good places to eat.
"Shirley and I will celebrate our
50th wedding anniversary in July."

Scottsdale, Ariz. ... "I am very pleased
and happy to see you mention my late
husband's deli, Leon & Lefkofsky, in
your column. It is always nice to be
remembered by someone after so long.
My husband passed away almost seven
years ago and I moved to Arizona
then. We both always loved it here.
"Kay Lefkofsky was my sister and
she passed away soon after my hus-
band. She owned and operated Kay
Lefkofsky Wholesale Meats. Her son,
Danny, is now in that business. I
worked with Leon at our first deli on
Linwood, called Leon's. My husband
also helped Sammy Lieberman on
Linwood when Sammy wanted to
take a vacation. He also worked for
Jack Goldberg at Stage Deli when
asked to fill in.
"I didn't work at Leon &
Lefkofsky's after Sam became his part-
- ner. I spent 25 years at Sears &
Roebuck in Livonia in the jewelry
department.
"Thank you again for the memory.
It was wonderful to see it in your col-
umn. Our name is spelled 'Sigel'.
Many people spell it differently."
JOKE DEPT ... from Murt and
Bud Sherbow ... about the elderly cou-
ple going out to dinner ... The woman
comes out of the bedroom and says to
her husband, "Darling, do you want
me to wear this Chanel suit or this St.
John?" ... "Whichever you want," he
replies ... The woman comes out of the
bedroom again and says to her hus-
band, "Darling, shall I wear my
Cartier watch or my Rolex?" ...
"Whatever you think looks best," says
the husband ... The woman comes out
of the bedroom yet again and says to
her husband, "Darling, shall I wear my
five-carat pear or my six-carat round
diamond?" ... "Either one," he says,
"but if you don't finish soon, we're
going to miss the early-bird special."

High School 50th reunion is Saturday,
Sept. 9.
