The Jewish Historical Society of
Michigan will honor Alan D. Kandel
of West
Bloomfield
with the
Leonard N.
Simons
History
Award, which
will be pre-
sented at the
society's annu-
al luncheon
Sunday, June
25,
at
Alan D. Kandel
Congregation
B'nai Moshe.
Kandel worked on a team of vol-
unteers for two years arranging the
papers of Philip Slomovitz, the late
editor of the Jewish News. The
Slomovitz collection is now stored in
the Reuther Archives at Wayne State
University in Detroit. Kandel also
has researched and published many
articles for Michigan Jewish History.
There is a charge of $25 for the
